PREFERMARKET DOCUMENTATION

How PreferMarket Works

PreferMarket is a community demand-discovery system for real-world questions that could become future prediction markets.

Participants do not predict whether an event will happen. They choose which question they would most like to see explored as a potential market. The resulting data represents relative community interest. It does not guarantee that an external platform will create or list a market.

System & Architecture Context

This documentation explains both the operating product and the broader system architecture. Mechanisms that are not currently active must be described as system direction, not as available functionality or guaranteed commitments.

01
Section 01

PreferMarket as a Demand-Discovery Layer

Traditional prediction markets usually begin after a market has already been created. PreferMarket operates earlier in the process.

Its purpose is to identify which questions attract meaningful community interest before liquidity, market-maker resources, or external platform attention are committed.

PreferMarket does not operate as a prediction market. It produces structured preference signals that external operators may independently evaluate.

1. A vote is not a trade

Arena participants choose a question. They do not open a position, risk capital, place a wager, or predict the final Yes/No outcome.

2. XP is not a financial token

XP records eligible participation and progression. It cannot be transferred, traded, purchased, or treated as money.

3. Not a guaranteed listing

A strong result indicates relative community interest. Any external market operator makes its own independent listing decision.

Section 02

From Suggestion to Preference Signal

The end-to-end question pipeline enforces systematic checks from public proposal intake to consensus archiving:

1

Question Pool

Every submitted idea first enters a shared Question Pool. Submissions do not go directly into the public Arena.

2

Initial Review

Questions are checked for spam, duplication, unclear wording, unsuitable subjects, and missing information. A promising but incomplete question may be returned for revision.

3

Resolution Preparation

Qualified ideas receive a clear outcome condition, deadline, evidence source, definitions, exception rules, and fallback source.

4

Daily Arena

Curated questions are presented to participants. Each participant chooses the question they would most like to see explored as a potential market. Live preference percentages remain hidden before selection to help reduce herd influence.

5

Consensus Archive

Arena results are preserved as a historical record of relative community interest. The Archive records preference. It does not represent event probability, universal agreement, or guaranteed trading demand.

03
Section 03

What Makes a Question Arena-Ready?

Every candidate matchup must satisfy three core qualification principles:

Principle 1

Meaningful Uncertainty

The question should concern an event that is not already settled, obvious, or effectively certain.

Principle 2

Objective Resolution

The outcome must be answerable through clear Yes/No conditions without depending on personal interpretation.

Principle 3

Listing Merit

The subject should carry enough economic, social, scientific, cultural, technological, sports, or policy interest to justify community attention.

Internal Balancing Guideline:Probability ranges are treated as an internal balancing guideline to pair competitive questions, not as an absolute public guarantee.
04
Section 04

The Six-Part Resolution Record

To prevent ambiguity and disputes, candidate questions must specify six formal fields:

1.

Outcome

The exact condition that produces a Yes or No result without ambiguous third states.

2.

Deadline

The final date and time, expressed strictly using UTC cutoff timestamps.

3.

Primary Source

The official issuer, registry, federation, filing, agency, or first-party source used to confirm the event.

4.

Definitions

The formal meaning of entities, locations, measurements, product names, thresholds, and other important terms.

5.

Edge Cases

Rules covering delays, cancellations, postponements, ties, revisions, or unexpected reorganizations.

6.

Fallback Source

A documented alternative source if primary evidence becomes temporarily or permanently unavailable.

Disclaimer:The resolution record is designed to reduce ambiguity. It cannot guarantee that every future real-world situation will be free from dispute.

[CRYPTO]

Digital Assets & Protocols

Protocols, networks, digital assets, regulated products, and on-chain events.

[SPORTS]

Sports & Global Competitions

Major leagues, federations, tournaments, championships, and official events.

[CULTURE]

Participation and Quality Are Different Signals

Participation Ledger (XP)

XP records eligible participation over time. It may reflect Arena activity, completed daily participation, or other approved actions supported by the current product.

XP is cumulative and non-transferable. It is not money and does not prove contribution quality by itself.

Reviewed Quality (Reputation)

Reputation represents the reviewed quality of a user’s contributions.

It may consider the quality of submitted questions, review decisions, explanations, resolution work, and consistency over time. Reputation can increase or decrease as new work is evaluated.

Canonical Protocol XP Awards
+5 XP
Arena Battle Selection

Awarded immediately for each daily matchup (up to 3x daily = 15 XP daily total)

+15 XP Daily Total
Daily Cycle Completion

Achieved upon locking decisions in all 3 daily matchups; advances streak

+25 XP
Question Approved

When your submitted idea meets standards and passes review

+100 XP
Top Candidate Feature

Awarded when your question is selected as an official Arena matchup

+20 XP
Contributor Referral

Awarded to both after the referred contributor completes their first cycle

+10 XP

How Responsibility Can Expand

Arena participation is open, but specialist responsibilities require demonstrated quality, appropriate assessment, and operational need. The following roles define the contributor architecture. They must not be presented as guaranteed employment, guaranteed income, or automatically active permissions.

Participant

Participates in the Daily Arena and may suggest new questions.

Contributor / Market Scout

Discovers worthwhile topics, develops early question ideas, and helps surface potential candidates.

Reviewer / Curator

Screens submissions for spam, duplication, relevance, basic clarity, and correct topic classification.

Resolution Architect

Transforms an approved idea into a complete and objectively resolvable question specification.

Domain Expert

Reviews specialist facts, terminology, sources, and edge cases when a question requires subject-matter expertise.

Demand Analyst

Selects and balances Arena candidates to protect relevance, category diversity, comparison quality, and usefulness of the resulting signal.

Protocol Arbiter

Handles exceptional disputes, appeals, and archive-integrity decisions under the governance rules currently in force.

These roles describe the contributor architecture. Specialist access is introduced only when its application, assessment, review, and accountability processes are ready.

Section 08

How Validated Contribution May Be Rewarded

PreferMarket may create funded programs for work that improves question quality, review accuracy, resolution clarity, or demand-signal usefulness.

1. Define

Publish the task, eligibility criteria, evidence requirements, validation process, and available reward pool.

2. Contribute

An eligible contributor completes the work and records the reasoning or evidence.

3. Validate

The work is checked through operational review, peer review, sampling, or escalation.

4. Allocate

Only accepted work may receive an allocation from an active and funded program.

Potential Program Funding Sources

  • Structured demand insights
  • Clearly disclosed sponsored research or curation programs
  • External attribution revenue
  • Priority-processing programs that do not change acceptance standards
  • A published share of realized and sustainable platform revenue
Required Financial Disclaimer

XP, streaks, roles, submitted questions, and Arena results do not create a cash claim. A financial reward exists only when a funded program is active, the work is eligible, and the contribution has been validated under the published rules.

09
Section 09

How Decision Responsibility Evolves

Current Operating Responsibility

The PreferMarket team manages question intake, review, Arena composition, corrections, and archive integrity while product standards are established and evaluated.

Expanded Contributor Network

Qualified contributors may take responsibility for bounded discovery, review, resolution, and analytical tasks under published rules and quality controls.

Mature Shared Governance

Trusted contributors or councils may eventually participate in senior role selection, disputes, appeals, and selected protocol parameters.

On-Chain Governance Note

Reputation-weighted voting, gasless signatures, and auditable on-chain decisions may form part of a mature governance architecture. These mechanisms must be described as future system direction unless the corresponding contracts, interfaces, policies, and public documentation are actually active.

Regular Arena participation must remain wallet-free.
